Michael LOVES going and cutting down his own Christmas tree. However, in our family it is never as easy as it seems. Last year, we went the wrong way and ended up going back and driving all around the area to find a Christmas tree, it took about 6 hours. And the heat in Michael's truck wasn't working and it was cold.
This year, we went to the ranger district to get our permit so we could find out exactly where to go. Besides the fact that their map was somewhat wrong, they told us the wrong place! Luckily, we stopped and told us where to go and we were able to find a good enough tree without getting stuck (in the mud, not the snow) and without driving for too long. We shaved two hour off and went with 4 hours this time!

Landen was really excited about the tree in the truck. We watched Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer with him while the Busselberg's were here. He told us about the "giant monkey" aka the abominable snowmonster and the Christmas tree in the movie. It's remarkable how much this child retains.
