Landen has a mind like a sponge. I love this age with him, he just absorbs everything you teach him. He remembers everything and is learning everything! Let me tell you about it!
On Sunday, we had some BBQ pulled pork. He loved it, and asked "what's dis?" and I said, "BBQ." He then began singing his ABC's almost perfectly. He has never sang them before, and I actually don't sing them with him that often, he usually wants to sing other songs. Michael and I were totally surprised. Needless to say, he won't sing them anymore.
One day in the car, he tells me, "Papa's house big." Yes, Papa's house is big. "Landen's house small." Yes, Landen's house is a smaller than Papa's. "Barn GIANT! Giant Barn!" Yes, Barns are usually giant. I can hardly believe he understand, giant, big, small. He's already comparing objects.
Grandma Busselberg gave Landen a new book. It's a truck counting book. When she gave him the book she asked him, "Want me to read it to you," "No," and he reads it and begins counting the trucks. He has never had this book read to him and he already knows it's a counting book. Though, he can't quite count in order he can tell you when he has 2 or 3 of something.
He spilled his yogurt on his pajamas (we were eating breakfast) and tells me that they need a bath. Instead of putting it in the tub like you'd expect him to, he wants it in the washer.
So, we're in sacrament meeting and we're looking at some wallet size pictures of Jesus. Landen starts singing "sun-Beam, Jesus, sun-Beam!" He is constantly surprising us with what he recalls from nursery and family home evening. He sees pictures of temple and know what they are. It makes us very proud.
He loves his family! And he really understands the concept of our family. A few weeks ago, he was playing with his cars. He picks up 2 big cars and names them Mom and Dad. Then a smaller one is Landen and the smallest one is Maggie. It makes your proud that he understands Maggie is part of family now. More recently, he loves playing with the navity. When he sees one, he points everything out-- Mom, Dad, and baby Maggie, cow, horse, sheep. Then he says, "where Landen? Oh there he is!" And picks up the shepard.
We love our Landen! He's so smart, funny and generally has a happy disposition. We love watching him learn and grow and be a great big brother!
